This Chardonnay is creamy and deliciously buttery – the oak is present, yet nicely incorporated with the fruity notes of citrus, apple, and pear, ending on cream and honey. Super comforting – drinking it feels like a hug from a good friend (or your favourite weighted blanket .)

How the wine is made

The grapes are harvested by hand, destemmed, pressed, and then spontaneously fermented (natural yeast only) in a new 225L oak barrique. It ages on fine lees for 9 months with occasional bâtonnage. No filtration, no fining, no additives except for a small amount of SO2 just before bottling. Further aged in bottle before release to smooth it up nicely.

Meet the winemaker

Jiří Bárta makes succulent and easy-drinking wines from a tiny 0.25ha plot in his hometown of Kobylí, Czech Republic. A true farmer, attached to his land and boutique production for his whole life – and the father of Vinofactum's founder Šárka. It runs in the family, you could say!
