Vino Vdovjak: Ordinarium
Vino Vdovjak: Ordinarium
An extra-ordinary dessert wine from the Slovak part of the Tokaj region, famous for its unique sweet aszú wines. A true essence of the area's volcanic soils, made from botrytic grapes with ultra-low-yields and concentrated aromas, Ordinarium shows an incredible balance of flamboyant flavours, sugar and acidity.
Sumptuous nose of raisins, honey, baked apples, vanilla and cinnamon, orange peel and self-indulgence. Lush and creamy yet fresh on the palate, this is a perfect wine for both savoury and sweet pairings – try it with mature and blue cheeses, patés or duck liver, fig and goat cheese quiche, nut-based desserts, and fruit-driven seasonal sweets like the traditional Stollen or panettone.
It keeps well once opened so no need to worry about finishing a bottle - a perfect sweet little something whenever you feel like it (we won't tell anyone .)
Blend of Furmint, Lipovina (Hárslevelű), and Yellow Muscat. 24 hours on skins, spontaneously fermented and aged in 250l amphora and glass demijohns.
Fun fact: Ordinarium was the very first name used for this kind of wine in Tokaj 💡
